Dianne Burch, Constituent Services Consultant.

Diane Burch Dianne Burch manages the Florence Field Office for Commissioner Fleenor and serves as Constituent Services Consultant for the West Lane County District #1. Her expertise in government affairs spans years of dedicated public service to Lane County. Dianne’s service includes serving on the Florence Planning Commission; Florence City Council, Florence Budget Committee, Florence Transportation Advisory Committee, Siuslaw Soil Water & Conservation District Board; Siuslaw Watershed Council; West Lane County Planning Commission; Lane County Planning Commission; Lane County Commission on Children & Families, Senior Disabled Services (SDS) Advisory Committee for Lane County, SDS Budget Committee, SDS Advocacy Committee, Lane Community College Budget Commission and the LCC Advisory Committee.

Dianne and her husband Wayne moved to Florence in 1974, where they moved their Eugene based business, Burch’s Roofing. Actively involved in the Florence Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis and Homebuilders of West Lane County, they enjoy working within the community. Wayne is retired, but continues working as a consultant to the family owned business. His retirement allows more time for restoring and showing classic cars, playing with his parrots and strumming on his new guitar and most importantly supporting Dianne in her constituency work.


Maria McConnell, Volunteer

Maria McConnell Born in New York City and raised in San Bernardino, California, Maria McConnell was the Sonoma County Planning and Community Development Assistant for 15 years. Her earlier work experience includes 10 years at Columbia Pictures as a Production Coordinator, and work as a Legal Secretary with Universal Studios and Walt Disney Productions, and work with Amgen Biotechnology in Thousand Oaks, California. Maria has two daughters, Gina McConnell in Las Vegas and Michelle Maestretti, who lives in Petaluma, California with her husband Forrest.


Jenny Velinity Jenny Velinty, Volunteer
Born in London, England Jenny Velinty graduated with degrees in Physical Therapy and Orthopedic Nursing from The Royal Orthopedic Hospital in Birmingham and The Royal Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath, England. She had a 40-year career working in acute rehabilitation hospitals in England and Canada and in the US in Chicago, Santa Barbara and Santa Monica before becoming a US citizen.

Husband Norman Velinty, a Cal Tech graduate in Physics and Mathematics, worked in space programs and computer technology at JPL. Jenny retired to Florence in 1992 and is an active participant in many Florence community activities including the Florence Transit Advisory Committee; Siuslaw Area Partnership for Prevention of Substance Abuse (SAPPSA), and the Adopt A Highway group for clean up of 6 miles of Hwy 126. Active members the Siuslaw Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, Jenny and Norman travel to China and Tibet locating and journaling native species rhododendrons as well as native orchids and trees growing in a pristine natural habitat.
